Our work so far and future goals at Single Mothers' Forum Okinawa
Organisation established
Single mothers start a support group in Naha City
Three staff members, each balancing work and child-rearing, started volunteering their time to the cause
Monthly "Evening Socials" held at Wakasa Community Center in Naha City
Additional workshops for both supporters and those in need of support
Monthly email newsletter published [As of January 2025, there are 1,050 newsletter subscribers]

Support for single mothers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic
Single mothers' support group funded by donations (donated goods and rice vouchers)
April: Food distribution event for 26 households at Wakasa Community Center. In addition, a collaboration with a children’s cafeteria, delivered free meals to 50 households, totaling 160 meals, 2–3 times a week (total 1,800 meals)
May–July: Shipping of Koshihikari rice to 70–90 households, twice (funded by the Nagatomo Foundation)
June: 1-night, 2-meal free stay for 60 households (all family members) at Best Western Okinawa Onna Beach Hotel (donated by the hotel)
November: 5 kg of Koshihikari rice mailed to 100 households (funded by Naha City Challenge Grant and other donations from Sunshine Yui-Maruru)
December: Christmas party sets (chicken, cake, sushi, etc.) gifted to 180 households (in collaboration with Okinawa Labor Credit Union)
December: 3,000 yen rice vouchers mailed to 160 households (funded by donations from Capcom, Sunshine Yui-Maruru, and others)
April–July: Monthly delivery of food packages to approximately 200 households (4 months, totaling 700 households) in collaboration with Second Harvest Japan, Food Bank Okinawa, and Yamato Transport
April: 5,000 yen gift vouchers given to children who graduated from high school (donated by Capcom)
September: 5 kg of Koshihikari rice mailed to 200 households (donated by Kinshu Holdings, Sunshine Yui-Maruru, and others)
December: 5,000 yen QUO cards given to 200 households (donated by Capcom, Sunshine Yui-Maruru, and others)
December: Christmas party sets (chicken, cake, sushi, etc.) gifted to 180 households (in collaboration with Okinawa Labor Credit Union)
April: 112 households received free karaoke meal vouchers from Maneki Neko (donated by Koshidaka Holdings)
May: 5,000 yen JCB gift cards mailed to 180 households (donated by Capcom, Sunshine Yui-Maruru, and others)
December: Christmas party sets (chicken, cake, sushi, etc.) gifted to 250 households (in collaboration with Okinawa Labor Credit Union)
December: 5 kg of Koshihikari rice gifted to 100 households (donated by Tsuuhan Seikatsu)
Started hosting Evening Socials
Using 'Dormant Deposits', Single Mothers' Station opens in Uema, Naha City
A total of 209 people participated in activities such as chat gatherings, yoga, mental health support, career counseling, and workshops.
Rice (such as Koshihikari) equivalent to 5 kilograms was distributed to a total of 720 households.
Email newsletter subscribers exceed 1,000.
